We’re bringing another, brand new supplier to your screens this Wednesday, 26th September! Let us introduce to you Colourist…
Colourist Heat Transfer Paints are a unique range of heat transfer paints. They are applied to ordinary paper and printed onto a wide range of items using an iron or a heat press. There are 35 colours in the range including all the primary colours plus different reds, blues and browns and some really brilliant colours such as Hot Pink.
The paints were originally developed for professional fabric designers but have become increasingly popular with crafters who are discovering the versatility of the paints. Unlike ordinary fabric paints, Colourist paints do not sit on the surface of the printed item, they are absorbed into it giving a professional, colourfast finish. The printing process is easy and quick and once printed the items are ready to use and washable! How great is that!
On the first Hochanda shows you can look forward to demonstrations giving you ideas for designing placemats, coasters, tea towels and cushions but there is a huge range of products available to be designed using the paints.
The paints are water-based and non-toxic and can be mixed together to make more shades. Crafters can paint detailed water-colour style pictures or bold abstracts, do cut out techniques and apply the paints with stamps.
Demonstrating the paints will be Catherine Garvagh who has owned the company for ten years and knows as well as anyone how exciting and versatile Colourist Heat Transfer Paints are. She says:” Colourist Heat Transfer Paints are used in schools and universities across the UK and abroad by textile artists and designers. More and more craft enthusiasts are learning that they can easily design many interesting and unexpected items at home and achieve a professional finish in minutes. It’s really amazing to see how people seeing a demonstration of the paints suddenly realise how they work and their imaginations start to blossom as the possibilities become clear.
The best way to get to know these paints is to see them in action.
Don’t miss the inspirational shows with Catherine this Wednesday at 8am, 11am and 1pm!
You can watch Hochanda live online, Sky channel 663, Freeview 85 or Freesat 817.
