There are endless designs that you can use in quilting. Not only can you make quilts, but also cushions, home decor and more! Nothing brightens up a room more than one of your own creations, so you’ll be thrilled to learn about the new exciting Liberty Snowflake Quilt project that Alice Caroline has for you…
Alice Caroline are delighted to launch a brand-new English Paper Pieced quilt – The Liberty Snowflakes Quilt. Using 48 different Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics, this quilt is a lovely project to make over several months. English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a technique that dates back to the 1770’s – it became increasingly popular in the 1880’s and is widely accessible now through kits such as this. Mainly hand sewing, this project is one that is very transportable and very easy to pick up and put down!
English Paper Piecing is a little addictive once you get started! Each block is pieced together using EPP and then appliquéd onto a Tana Lawn backing fabric. As in the case of a snowflake, each block is different and uses different Tana Lawn Liberty fabric, which is beautifully soft to touch and 100% cotton. At times when we are restricted in what we can do, it’s the perfect time to start a new quilting project.
See the below tutorial with Anna from Alice Caroline to see how to bring these beautiful quilts to life!
The first three blocks are available to buy now, the next three blocks will be available from 3pm on Saturday 1st August and the final three (plus the finishing kit) on Sunday 20th September at 8am. Happy quilting!
