New supplier teddyand.me are launching with us at 12pm on Tuesday 10th March. Their easy to use sewing patterns are perfect to help you make adorable matching outfits for children and their favourite teddy, and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to the Hochanda family.
Ahead of their first show we caught up with Georgia Marshall-Brown to find all about teddyand.me and what’s in store for her first show.
How do you feel about joining Hochanda and showcasing your products?
As a lifelong crafter I’m always on the lookout for inspiring new hobbies, techniques and supplies. I love watching Hochanda and I often have it on in the background whilst I sketch out my clothing designs, sew samples and draft new patterns. The presenters are so lovely and the guests always do such interesting demonstrations – everyone always seems to be having so much fun, it feels like I know them all personally! So, just imagine how thrilled I was to be asked to join the Hochanda family!
What was your introduction to the Hochanda family like?
In January I was invited to the headquarters to find out how everything worked. I met some really lovely people and lots of very inspiring crafters, with such a fantastic range of crafting skills from papercraft to macramé, crochet to dressmaking. It was just brilliant to mingle and chat with crafting talent of this high calibre; it really felt like home.
Did you know Hochanda is filmed live?
Let me tell you, this is a nerve wracking thought for a guest presenter like myself, but for people watching at home it means they’ll get to see something new and innovative every single day! I’m currently preparing the demonstrations for my first show and I’m so excited to introduce you to my company – Teddy and me and our easy-to-use sewing patterns and kits. They include everything you need to sew truly original, matching clothes for children and their teddy bear… you can even sew your own teddy from scratch!
Do you have anything special for your first show?
I’m planning to show you how, with our patterns and a little creativity you can make fun matching clothes for your child and their teddy bear. #TwinningIsWinning. I’ll also give you some hints and tips on how to sew your own very special teddy bear. During the show I’ll try to inspire people to think about ways to creatively upcycle clothing and fabric scraps. This is not only good for the environment, but also a great way to showcase and extend the life of pre-loved and treasured fabrics. Finally, sales from our printed sewing patterns help raise funds for children’s charities, as we donate £1 with the sale of each of our main patterns.
