We super excited to be launching our very first, dedicated jewellery making hour – Jewellery Box with Aldridge Crafts this Saturday, 19th November at 11am. To get us all ready for the fabulous demonstrations from Jane Aldridge, she has given us this step-by-step necklace project – it’ll add a bit of homemade charm to your jewellery box and a sense of pride to any occasion when, of course, you’ll be asked where you got it from.

Follow these step by step instructions to make this elegant sparkly purple bracelet design featuring the Pretty Purples Sparkle Bead Collection from Aldridge Crafts.  There is also an Autumn Browns Sparkle Bead Collection available too that you can use with this design.

Products used:

  • Silver Colour Findings Starter Kit Including Design Board
  • Pretty Purples Sparkle Bead Collection
  • Tools

Method:

To Begin

Cut a length of Tigertail beading wire to about 10 inches.  Feed your wire through 2 crimp beads, through a jump ring, back through the crimp beads and then pinch the crimp beads shut with a pair of flat nose pliers.

Step One

Start by feeding on the Rice bead, 6mm round faceted bead, Crackle Bead, 6mm faceted bead, rice bead onto your tigertail. Alternatively, you can use your design board and lay out the whole design before feeding all of your beads onto your tigertail at the end.

Step Two

Next feed on the following pattern and repeat four times; Faceted rondelle, rice bead, 6mm round faceted, crackle bead, 6mm round faceted, rice bead

Step Three

Finally feed your tigertail wire through 2 crimp beads, through a jump ring and back through the two crimp beads and feed the excess wire through a few beads. Gently pull tight and then squeeze the crimp beads shut with flat nose pliers and trim off any excess wire.

Open the jump ring at one using two flat nose pliers end add a lobster claw clasp and then close the jump ring and on the other end add a large jump ring.

Notes

To make your bracelet larger, you can add an extra repeat of pattern, or simply add a few extra beads at each end – perhaps a line of rice beads.

This design is also ideal to use with the Autumn Browns Sparkle Bead Collection too and looks just as pretty in the brown shades.

Don’t forget to tune in this Saturday, 19th November at 11am for a dedicated hour of jewellery making tips and techniques from Jane Aldridge!
