Hello everyone, welcome to the Hochanda Blog. Hope you are all enjoying the sunny weather we’ve been having. I’m so grateful to the rain as I grow my own vegetables, just started harvesting goodies 😉 but when it rains, it means I get a whole evening to myself crafting which is very welcome. Time to get the needle going again.
Well I had lots of goodies sent to me recently including some Threaders quilting stencils, fabric and some iron on embroidery transfers. I’m saving those to finish off some cushions I’ve been sewing together by hand so will review those later.
Anyhow, onto the stencils. Now I’m a beginner sewer. Not that skilled, as yet, but practice makes perfect as they say. These stencils are so easy to use.
Firstly, I took a stencil and sprayed it with some fabric stick and spray to the back of the stencil so that it stayed put. Then taking a Threaders heat erasable pen, I drew around the teddy bear stencils on some plain white poplin cotton. Next, I took some 2oz quilters wadding and applied a bit of stick and spray and stuck on the back of the poplin cotton. I cut around the teddy bear and then embroidered around them using embroidery cotton.
An amazing result. I would highly recommend these stencils for beginners and skilled sewers alike.
I can’t wait to use the rest of my products; further reviews will follow. I have been hampered in my sewing due to my mum having a fall a few weeks ago. Thankfully she just bruised her knees and it wasn’t anything too serious. We will be embarking on more sewing projects during the next few weeks. Watch this space! Until next time everyone. Keep Crafting!!!
