We recently caught up with Tracy Easson to put together this fantastic tutorial using her ‘Just a Girl and Her Forever Friend’ stamp to inspire our lovely Hochanda crafters!
About Tracy Easson:
Tracy is a happy doodler, wife, mother of 2 boy/men and a ‘fur baby’, passionate about crafting from an early age using layers, textures and magical colours to bring her whimsical imaginings to life. Shop the full collection of Tracy Easson stamps & more here on Hochanda.
Step 1
Place just a girl on a stamping platform, ink her up with a memento ink pad and stamp onto copy paper 3 times.
Step 2
Take a mechanical pencil, let your imagination take over and add simple doodled lines to just a girl, add little notes so you will remember why you’re adding them.
Step 3
Create a limited palette with 5 watercolours, make a swatch so you will remember them.
Step 4
Go in loose with the watercolours, swap them around for each image to create a different look.
Step 5
Add splatters and magic with little stars from the set, you want this page to inspire you when you need to be inspired and remind you what else you can add.
Step 6
Clip it all together, keep it safe for when your mojo needs a little helping hand.
Next time you’re struggling for ideas, look at your reference, follow your steps, build up layers with the watercolour paints, keep it loose and free.
Go in with fluid acrylics in Titanium White and Burnt Umber around the image to make her pop, bring the magic by adding little loose threads and sequins along the way.
