Place the tag die over the edge of the white card and tape down.
Cut a full sized tag from your patterned paper.
TOP TIP:
When using inks such as Distress or Oxides keep one brush for each colour family so you don’t blend your colours. I also name the brushes accordingly so.
Using a blending mat (I use Bee Crafty’s set of 3), pick up a small amount of the Fossilised Amber on your brush and work on to the blending mat. Then gently brush over the edges of the paper towards the middle of the paper. Using a brush eliminates any awkward lines.
Repeat with the Spiced Marmalade Oxide to give depth to your paper, keeping the colour towards the outer edge and less in the middle.
Adding extra interest to your patterned paper using LaBlanche stamps
Firstly I used the small dotty background stamp with the Spiced Marmalade and then added in Cracked Pistachio with the more decorative stamp.
Embellishments
I have used the large Graphic 45 Tag die set with a smaller tag included. It also has a variety of flowers, sprigs and leaves.
Die cut the small tag and using the same blending method in points 3 and 4, colour the tag – place to one side. Die cut several shapes from coordinating card and the same patterned paper, then colour the flowers again.
Add a piece of adhesive decorative lace to the bottom of both tags.
TOP TIP:-
The adhesive will show through the gaps in the lace so keep a pot of fine white glitter to sprinkle over the lace, tap into the adhesive. Shake off the excess.
Add a general sentiment to the small tag. Attach the smaller tag to the main card using a coordinated ribbon.
TOP TIP:-
Loop your ribbon through the tag holes and lift the loop, then add a small piece of red liner tape – take the cover off and pull tight the loop. Your loop and ribbon will now be secure. Make a small bow and attach again using red liner tape.
Using one of my favourite tools – Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Shape your flowers, sprigs and leaves.
Tuck the shaped leaves under the smaller tag with 3D glue gel. Balancing out from top to bottom. Add your flowers onto the card, building up the layers with the different coloured flowers and foliage, alternating as you go.
Use a concentrated watercolour ink (I used dark blue) and mix with an iridescent mica ink in gold, place a little of each onto the blending mat and mix together with your paint brush. You can see the mica sparkle in the ink.
Once you have mixed your ink, load your brush and using another paintbrush, tap your loaded paintbrush over your tag and continue until you are happy with the splats and splodges.
TOP TIP:-
If you hold the brush closer toward the bristles, then your splatters will be more concentrated. Holding it further away and more loosely, will make the splats go further apart.
Also with any excess ink you have left, colour a generic die cut and leave to dry ready for use. Also any Dioxide ink you had left on the blending mat, spritz with water and swipe over a piece of card likewise with any of the sparkly ink you have left. You can really see the sparkle left on the swipe up.
