How I made the Project

  1. Firstly put the MDF shrine together as per the instructions provided using glue and wait until it dries clear. Tip: When you have glued the shrine together wrap an elastic band around it to keep it together whilst the glue dries.

  1. Once the glue has dried, paint all over the surface (back and front) with white gesso. Paint another layer onto the shrine to add colour. I used metallic green multi-surface paint and added a little dry brushing of the metallic copper.

  1. Take your chosen image and stamp out using the versafine ink and then emboss with the fine clear embossing powder and the heat tool. Stamp out 2 images. At the same time stamp out any additional stamps to embellish your project.

  1. Cut out your image and also cut out the elements from your second image to layer up onto the design. This is entirely your choice as to how many layers that you do.

  1. Colour in your images using the colouring method of your choice – I have used the satin inks as they create such a fabulous finish and really suit the project.
  1. Take your That’s Crafty Craftyboard and choose which designs you would like to use, pop these out.

  1. Using the multi-surface paints and the satin inks colour your crafty board in the chosen colours.

  1. Now that you have all the elements prepared it is time to embellish your shrine. Firstly, place the Christmas Darlings image in the middle of the frame. TIP: Use some of the waste crafty board to raise up the image so that it stands proud from the middle of the frame, use clear glue to stick these together to the height you prefer.

  1. Now add the other stamped images – holly and poinsettias around the main image and then carry on and decorate around the frame with the other painted crafty board just as you wish. Finally using the Merry Christmas sign stamp, pop that onto one side of the frame.  You can add finishing touches with dry brushing white gesso over some of the crafty board embellishments.
