Hello again everyone. Welcome to the Hochanda Blog. Today I’m writing my quick review on Dawn Bibby’s new Moonsparkle pens. These are highly glittered water based brush pens which are great for colouring stamped images and adding a bit of sparkle to your cards and mixed media projects. I shall be using them a lot in the coming months.

They have a really thick paint like effect when you colour with them, a little goes a long way. The pigment moves around the paper before it dries, once it dries it is there.
I coloured this page in my art journal black just to see what it would look like and how it took to the paper and it gave really good coverage.
I also stencilled through one of Dawn’s stencils with a distress oxide and got this chalky effect which is really effective. I will finish that page later as I need to come up with some ideas about that one!!
They gave good coverage on MDF once it had been gesso’d. As they are water based, if I did not gesso first, they seeped through and just soaked up the ink. Really good for adding colour to some mixed media projects as you can gesso over all sorts of things and add colour with them which I have tried but haven’t used on a project as yet.
If you are looking for a good quality glitter marker then these are for you. Available from Hochanda right now on a special offer. You can pick any two sets of three pens for £19.94. Available to purchase here. Love all of Dawn’s pens so these are a welcome addition to my craft room.  Until next time….
  1. When i went to the create it show i brought a ‘moom sparkle’ pen. The sticker came off and underneath the moom sparkler sticker it said wink of stella. Also had chinese on the bar code. Looked like a copy of a wink of stella pen brought in bulk from china! Disappointing really.
