It’s that time again… Crafters’ Spotlight has returned! Here, we get to shine a light on YOU, our incredibly supportive fans who love to get involved and share your amazing creations with us. Each month we pick one of you to showcase on this blog – last month it was the wonderful Carole Catterall who told us all about her main inspirations and gave advice for newbie crafters… if you missed it, catch up here.

Tracey Rogers
Tracey is a member of the Artisan Design team, who produce the most amazing stamps and stencils! We are so delighted to be putting Tracey in the spotlight this month, read on to learn more about her and her crafting background!
Tell us a little about yourself!
I am originally from the Wirral, but I currently live in Carlisle having moved here two years ago to be near my daughter Danielle and my granddaughter Lyra Pearl. I teach papercrafting and have in the past done workshops and demonstrating. I craft every day and love getting together with crafty pals!
Who/What got you interested in crafting?
I have always been into crafting of some form from a young age. I had crafty parents, mum was an avid knitter and dressmaker and dad was a wonderful cake maker. I found papercrafting around 15 years ago and have loved it ever since. I have been lucky enough to demonstrate papercrafting and host workshops too when I lived in Pembrokeshire. I now live in Carlisle and for the past year or so I have been a part of the Artisan Designs group design team which I am thoroughly enjoying.
Have you picked up any new crafts during lockdown?
I have learned some very useful new skills during lockdown. My partner and I have built a craft office/room in the garden from the concrete base to the finished article and with our new skills we also built two new wooden gates and some planters from the leftover wood. It was hard work, but I am enjoying the benefits of my own space to create in!
Tell us more about your craft room!
My newly built craft room sits at the bottom of the garden and is just so peaceful and quiet. I have all my craft stash around me in one place it is just fabulous. I upcycled a Welsh dresser and an old sideboard for it too. I am sure I will spend many happy hours creating in it!
What is your favourite type of craft?
I adore anything papercraft from cardmaking to mixed media to making memory albums… I love how you can take a blank piece of paper and using inks and mediums, stamps, stencils and your own imagination and style, you can create a unique piece of art. I love making flowers too from paper or foam and colouring stamped images, which I find very relaxing.
Which of your creations are you most proud of?
I am very proud of my Artisan Designs projects that I have made over the last year and seeing them shown on the Hochanda channel along with the other DT samples is just wonderful! I really love how my last three upcycled projects turned out – an old vase and matching candlesticks and an old plastic frame which I painted to house an A4 project.
