Starting from the bottom corner of the diamond, I thread the green strips of card through the lattice twisting the card, as I weaved it through the frame in random directions. When the ‘vines’ come out of the edges, I twisted and curled the ends of the card to make it look like natural vines. I then arranged the flowers and leaves in varying sizes along the winding ‘vines’. Bend and curl the leaves to give a more natural look.
The second project used the lolly/planter sticks to create a house-shaped frame.
I started by creating a u-shape with the sticks and then added two sticks onto the u-shape and crossed them over at the middle to create the ‘roof’. I stamped and cut many layers to create the flowers and used Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers to colour them. I also used markers to colour the wooden sticks in brown. I cut four triangles for bunting and lightly shaded the white card I used in pink with Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud in Frosty Blossom. This was so the white card wasn’t as stark against the dark frame. I used a pennant shaped die to make the ‘home sweet’ tag at the top of the frame and shaded the white card in the same way as the other bunting. I arranged the flowers and leaves around the frame and hung the bunting and tag with pink ribbon that I also used to make a loop to hang the frame from.
The projects below were made using wooden mini crates that I decorated in two different ways. In this project I painted the wood in a pale pink then went over it with one coat of white gesso. Once dry, I lightly sanded it back to give the crate a light wash of pink.
In the second one, the same wooden crate was used but I stained this one dark brown by simply colouring it in with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I also used the markers to colour the wooden peg in pink. You could also use the pegs as a mini photo or memo holder.
Thank you for joining me and I hope I have given you a few ideas on the possibilities of the Heartfelt Creations Peony Collection. I’d love to see your Heartfelt Creations makes, so please feel free to share. Happy crafting!
