Hello everyone, well I’ve been busy sorting out the craft room and moving craft stuff from the lounge/dining room back upstairs. Been taking me months but I am getting there slowly, bit by bit.
Well did you manage to catch the lovely and very talented Hayley West on Hochanda with her new concept for patchwork and quilting – Handmade by Hayley?
I think it is a very clever and easy concept for those like me who are beginners. I’ve never cut my own patchwork yet, I’m not confident with a pair of scissors, it would be full of jagged edges and not perfect so have been using dies to cut my pieces. But I think Hayley has saved me from this.
Her fabric panels are really clever, each piece is designed by her and pre-printed on the fabric so you just literally follow the excellent instructions and within an hour you have your fabric panel.
Scissors at the ready
Such a simple but clever idea. I let Mum cut this one out as I’m still learning with the sewing machine and then we put it together. Really pleased with this and can’t wait for the next panels.
Mum cutting out
Well done Hayley. I can’t wait to see what is new at the end of this month. A very clever idea.
First bit done
I would say this project is really suitable for beginners as I managed it! And if I can manage to sew in a straight line anyone can.

Have fun everyone and keep crafting.
  1. Really glad you enjoyed the block and found it to be easy. I wanted them to be easy and hopefully help build confidence. Looking forward to hearing more about your quilting journey x
