Dawn Bibby Fabric Creations Review by Tracy Sutton

Hello everyone, I hope many of you have been Christmas crafting?  I’ve been lucky enough to receive a Dawn Bibby Fabric Creations panel – a Christmas Owl which I’m currently working on during my spare time which is few and far between.  I haven’t really done any embroidery for years but fancied having a go and so purchased a few panels and this is the first one I’m working with.  I went for the cushion set and the applique panels which I’m going to use on some other items but wanted to show you what beautiful cushions these will be when they are finally finished – hopefully by Christmas, if not they will be put away for next year.

I’ve been using stem stitch to embroider around the tree and around the holly leaves.  With the holly I’ve used some blending filament in with my embroidery floss.

Its going to take me a while but is going to be really very pretty.

There are various pattern choices available including unicorns, flamingo and floral ones so much to choose from.  Really good quality cotton and if you are a machinist they Dawn does wonderful Marathon thread which is excellent quality as well as fabric paints to add a bit of sparkle.  I’ve got some of everything so will be endeavouring to show you my work over the coming months.

I really hope you take the plunge and try these fabulous fabric panels as they make really great cushions and bags and anything else you can imagine.

I’ve not even made a Christmas card yet, best I get my skates on.  Until next time.  Keep crafting!
