A Crystal Art Motif Project by Tracy Sutton

Good morning everyone. Well it’s that time already with another project. Been an exciting few weeks, I got to go on a Dream Day at Hochanda and it was just the best day I’ve ever had. Was so interesting going behind the scenes and finding out how the channel works. It was just the best day. Anyone going to the Create It Kent in May? I will be there on the Saturday. Hope to be able to meet some of you there. Anyway, crystal art is one of my favourite hobbies, it’s so relaxing and addictive like most things. I’m lucky to be on the project design and test team so there is a never ending stream of projects coming into the house. For this project, I’ve combined it with Dawn Bibby’s pink poppy box as it has so much stuff in it.
Completed Project
You will need:
  • 1 x Dawn Bibby square plaque
  • 1 x Dawn Bibby pink poppy embellishment box
  • Crystal art motif of your choice
  • Sanding block
  • Wet glue
  • Hot glue gun or silicone glue
Stage 1: Complete your crystal art motif.
Stage 1
Stage 2: Choose a page out of the paper pad and stick it onto your MDF plaque. Leave to dry and then take your sanding block and rub down the excess paper in a downward motion, this gives a more professional and neat finish. If you do this whilst the glue is wet, it will lift the paper up.
Stage 2
Stage 3: Stick the crystal art motif onto the plaque slightly off centre and about half way up on the right hand side of the plaque.
Stage 3
Stage 4: Arrange your desired flowers out of the poppy box and stick down using your heat gun or silicone glue. I use a heat gun as it gives an immediate stick. If you use silicone glue you will need to leave it to dry over night.
Stage 4
Stage 5: Using a craft pick or pokey tool, push through the holes from the back and then go back from the front to make sure the paper is not ruffed up. Poke your ribbon through the hole from the front to the back, and tie a knot at the back to secure.
Stage 5
Completed Project
Hope you like this simple quick project. Enjoy crafting and see you soon.
