Hello! Thanks for stopping by today. It’s great to have your company. After the bad weather we have all had over the last few weeks, I’m sure that most of us are dreaming of the summer days to come and a holiday either home or abroad. Of course we still have the Spring to look forward to along with all the spring flowers, everything springing to life, such a wonderful time of year. Today I thought it would be nice to share a little bit of summer with this card, made with A6 Groovi Plates from Clarity.
For this card you will need:
- A6 Classic Vehicles Groovi Plates
- A6 Air Collection Groovi Plates
- Journey Spacer Plate
- Plate Mate for the A6 Plates
- Pergamano Embossing Mat or Similar
- Perga Colours or similar
- Embossing Tools
- 7 x 7” Parchment
- 7 1/2 x 7 1/2” Dark Blue Centura Pearl
Step 1: Cut your card and parchment to size. Very lightly score the parchment at 1/4” on each side. Don’t fold the score line, it is just for your work space reference.
Step 2: Add the Vehicle from the classic vehicles plates.
Step 3: Next add the road, trees and balloons. Be careful not to overlap your line work. Top tip: Use the edges of the trees to add bushes and greenery to the landscape.
Step 4: Continue building your scene, adding more balloons to give the illusion of distance and height. Then add some clouds and birds, which are all included within the set.
Step 5: Lastly add the landscape, mountains etc. Top tip: To add the hills in front of the mountains, use the shallower parts of the mountain groove and continue along your design. Add your sentiment, I have just used part of ‘The Journey’ spacer plate.
Step 6: Create a box around your sentiment. Begin your white embossing work, use it to add shape to the car, dimension and texture. Remember to do little and rest the parchment in between.
Step 7: Add some interest around the frame, with designs of your choice, here I have actually use sprigs from a Christmas Wreath Plate. You have so many designs to choose from across the Groovi range.
Step 8: Add your colour. I personally don’t like big blocks of colour so I have added parts of the sky as a suggestion. Use a darker colour behind your sentiment to highlight it. Gently score and fold the parchment now, using red liner tape secure it to the dark blue card. Finally layer your finished project onto a black card base. Top Tip: If you have the designer papers from Clarity and prefer to use that instead of the blue card, experiment with them to see which gives you the effect you like.
