Fresh Spring Inspired Greeting Card by Barbara McNaughton

Hello Crafters,
You are in for such a treat! The new Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony Collection is just gorgeous!
The first project I decided to make with this collection is a fresh spring inspired greeting card with mats and layers made using the new Tonic Studios Memory Book Maker Layered Cascade Die Set. The two collections work wonderfully together.

To start the card, I made a card blank and alternating mats and layers in fuchsia pink and lime green cardstock. Assemble these for a fun base on which to build the centrepiece of the card.

Next, using the large and the small sweet peony stamp sets from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony collection, stamp out at least 2 of each of the flower designs onto pink card from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony paper pad  in grey ink for a vintage look.

Line up the matching dies and die cut your flowers.

Spread out your flowers onto kitchen roll, spray lightly with water and scrunch to create texture.

Open up the flowers and dry with a heat gun. If you don’t have a heat gun, simply let them air dry.

Then, shape the flowers with the fabulous Heartfelt Creations Flower Shaping Kit.

Add a little more detail to your flowers by dabbing the edges of the petals with a matching coloured ink and use a water brush to paint in added colour and shading.

Next assemble your flower using a wet glue. Add a pearl and gems to the centre to finish it off.

Make a greeting banner using the gorgeous papers from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony paper pad.

Similarly cut out a greeting and some tags from the pad and mount to create embellishments for the centre of the card.

Assemble the centrepiece using foam pads and wet glue and finish with a bow out of matching ribbon.

Happy crafting,

Don’t forget to tune into the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Peony One Day Special from 6pm on the 2nd March.
