My name is Lotte Littau and I am the co-founder and co-owner of Creativ Company.
In my daily work I am responsible for creativity and welfare in our company. A colleague of mine and I started Creativ Company in the summer 2000 – but before that I worked in the craft industry for 8 years. Back in 2000 Peter and I were the only two employed in Creativ Company – but very soon we had to hire more people and today we are around 180 employees all around Europe.
Knitting, crocheting, embroidery and sewing has always been a part of my life – in fact I was only 5 years old when I learned crocheting, and only a few years later I knitted my first jumper. I am very fortunate and happy that I have been able to work with creative products in my professional life as well in my private life.
I am also very happy that I have the possibility to be surrounded by creative people and creative products during my workday. Our passion for creativity makes it natural to inspire each other and to get inspired from our close network of customers and suppliers. Of course we also look at trends and new inspiration when we visit fairs around Europe and on various social media. We hope that we can inspire you to dive into the world of creativity.
Working with creativity is actually very simple. To get started, my best advice is that you choose a small project that you are excited about. The most important thing is that you enjoy the process and what you are doing along the way. It is very important for us, that you will succeed with your project, so on our website we have step-by-step instruction and videos that you can follow. Creative people are usually very helpful, so you can find a lot of help and support on the internet as well.
Some of our very exciting new products for the coming season are our woven Christmas Hearts and woven German Stars in paper.
They are uniquely designed by us, and they combine the old Scandinavian tradition of making nostalgic ornaments for Christmas with a new look, that will fit into modern home décor. Especially I like the combination of different patterns and colours that you can mix and match in your own unique way. The collection of woven German Stars for instance has a variety of glittered and lacquered shreds – and some has gold or silver tips to make the stars sparkle.
Our woven Christmas Hearts are very traditional and reminds me of the fairy tales written by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen in the 1860’s – and of course of my own childhood Christmases. We have made it easy to create these ornaments, and when you follow the instruction, you are guaranteed to succeed.
